Reauthorise MTDfVAT with HMRC

For security reasons, your authorisation within MTDfVAT will expire every 18 months. Reauthorising the software is simple:

  1. Click OK when the error appears
  2. Proceed through the screens until you reach the login screen
  3. Sign in with your HMRC Tax Gateway details
    Note: This is not your PAYE information
  4. Grant authority on the next screen
  5. Continue with your VAT return

Download the correct add-in for Excel

If you’re new to MTDfVAT or have recently moved to a new laptop or desktop, you will need to download the add-in to use our links with Excel.

It’s important to note that we have two versions of the add-in, therefore you must ensure that you download the correct one for your operating system.
